Here’s a Gluten-Free Delicious & Crafty Fail

gluten-free ice cream conesI realize that was confusing. Are these Ice Cream Clones a) Delicious, b) Gluten-Free, or c) A huge failure? The answer may surprise you. It’s all three!!!! I mean, you knew that last one just by looking. But just in case you didn’t understand how it was delicious, there’s (gluten-free) vanilla ice cream inside of those (gluten-free) ice cream cones covered in (gluten-free) white chocolate and (gluten-free) decorating pen. It’s supposed to be clones from the Star Wars Cookbook, but in my art-less hands, it’s stripes on an odd-shaped ice cream cone. I mean, can anyone really do this?

Fine. Maybe you can. And maybe you have that groovy backdrop and the action figures to boot. But I don’t, and I can’t. So I eat my failures. Once again. I’m eating my failures. You want to give it a shot? I dare you. Gluten-Free Ice Cream Clones adapted from Star Wars Cookbook: Ice Sabers prep time: 1 hour Ingredients 6 Gluten-free ice cream cones, flat bottomed 1 pint vanilla ice cream 6 ounces white chocolate 1/4 cup coconut oil 3 ounces dark chocolate, melted, or gluten-free icing decorating pen 1. Fill gluten-free ice cream cones with 2/3 cup or so of vanilla ice cream. Put in freezer to freeze solid for about 30 minutes. 2. Melt white chocolate and coconut oil over double broiler. Allow to cool for 5 minutes. 3. Remove ice cream cones from the freezer and dip into the white chocolate mixture up to the rim. Return to freezer for at least 20 minutes. 4. After properly frozen, remove ice cream cones from freezer and decorate with melted chocolate and a piping bag, or a decorating pen. Makes: 6 Ice Cream Clones
